Match report: Blues tame poor Lions to claim sixth win

CARLTON has continued their good form to claim a convincing 38-point victory over the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions challenged at the start of the third quarter but poor defensive efforts allowed Carlton to run away with a 16.6 (102) to 9.10 (64) win.
A sixth victory for the Blues have moved them within striking distance of the eight, which seemed unbelievable at the start of the season after finishing with the wooden spoon last year.
The Weitering and Schache show started early but the defender was helped by some sound team defence to get over the top of the No.2 draft pick.

Jed Lamb and Dennis Armfield both hit the scoreboard with three goals each.
