Match report: Dogs spoil farewell party, but celebrations on ice

THE WESTERN Bulldogs have spoiled Essendon's farewell party for their outgoing stars, beating the Bombers by 40 points at Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.
The match was Bomber Mathew Stokes' 200th and final AFL match, while it is unclear whether former Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney has one last game in him after he reached his 250th milestone.
But the 14.9 (93) to 7.11 (53) win has come at a cost, with Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood going down with an ankle injury.
