Swans fined $2500 over ASADA breach

THE AFL has fined the Sydney Swans $2500 for failing to provide up-to-date player addresses for ASADA's testers.

The League announced on Monday it had sanctioned the Swans the minimum amount for an "administrative error" given the club's "strong compliance history".

The AFL's general counsel Andrew Dillon said the club had been reminded the rules had to be complied with at all times.

Under the AFL and ASADA code, all clubs need to keep the anti-doping authority aware at all times of the location of listed players, including home addresses.

Players can be tested every day of the year for banned performance-enhancing drugs.

The Swans were booted out of this year's finals series on Saturday night with their 26-point loss to North Melbourne at ANZ Stadium.

Having finished in the top four, the injury-struck Swans were overrun by the Roos, who started the finals in eighth position but have progressed to the preliminary final for the second successive year.
