NORTH Melbourne has recorded its best start to a season in its 92-year VFL/AFL history, winning its ninth straight game with a commanding 67-point victory over an undermanned Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
North's 9-0 start to 2016 surpasses its 8-0 opening to 1978 when it lost the Grand Final, with its passage to the club record never really in doubt against the Blues as it increased its lead at every change to prevail 17.11 (113) to 6.10 (46).

Goldstein outclassed direct opponent Daniel Gorringe at the stoppages, finishing with 45 hit-outs to the Blue's seven, and regularly put the ball down the throat of his midfielders.
